- Afternoon in the beit midrach (= house of study). Yeshiva students come here to study the sacred texts as the Torah and the Talmud. Some of them are armed. Most of them wear tzitzit (fringes) and lay tefillin, that is bind in their arms and forehead a leather pouch containing scrolls of Torah passages. During rest time, certain students prefer studying than resting in their dormitories.
